When Natalie McDonald was part of a works syndicate that scooped over £2 million on the National Lottery her boss quit her job, sold the hairdressing salon that they all worked at and made them all redundant after deciding her share of the win was enough to quit work on.
Yet that wasn’t enough to put Miss McDonald off, she was determined to carry on working despite her lottery win and simply purchased another premises a few doors down the road and reopened.
After refitting the business and a full refurbishment making it a salon she has employed she other staff who were made redundant and the whole lot of them are now working in this thriving little business.
None of the hairdressers at the salon wanted to quit work but it seemed they would have no choice when the owner sold up but now they are all working together, doing the job they love, for the same wage as before despite each one of them being almost £500,000 richer.
It is said that one in three lottery winners continue working after a big win and these girls were no different, they say they love their jobs and now as all their regular customers are turning to the new salon, each of them says they couldn’t be happier in their work.
