Last year a survey was taken of the UK’s luckiest lottery towns, that is the towns in the UK that had the highest proportion of lottery winners. Of all the towns in the survey only one Scottish town made it and that was Perth, making it Scotland’s luckiest place to be a lottery winner.

That has never been truer than this week when a lady walked into a Perth shop to have her lottery ticket checked and was told that it was worth £7.4 million. The shocked shopkeeper informed the lady she would need to contact Camelot – the lottery organisers – for a win that big and pointed her in the right direction. It’s now said that the shop is very lucky as only last week another customer won £1,000 on a scratch card in the store.
Although Camelot have confirmed a winner from that area, the winners name was not released after she asked for no publicity.
Of course it’s not just the shop that is lucky, that whole area of Scotland is deemed to be a National Lottery hotspot with over £25 million of Lotto winnings hitting the area.
So if you are looking for somewhere lucky to place your lottery tickets maybe Perth is the place to be lucky on the lottery right now.
